Erik Nierenberg

Erik Nierenberg is a Partner at Invictus Growth Partners with more than two decades of leadership experience in B2B enterprise software. His career spans a broad range of operating roles—including sales, marketing, product, business development, M&A, strategy, and operations.

Most recently, Erik served as CEO of Litmus, a category-leading email optimization and personalization platform. Over eight years, he led the company through transformative growth and operational scale, expanding it from a single-product, single-channel business into a multi-product enterprise platform trusted by the world's leading brands. Under his leadership, Litmus achieved high levels of growth and profitability which culminated in a recent successful exit to Validity.

Earlier in his career, Erik held roles across strategy, product, and go-to-market at Salesforce.com during its high-growth years. He also was an SVP and GM at Lynda.com (acquired by LinkedIn), a Consultant at Bain & Company, and worked as an early-stage venture capitalist.  Erik was also part of the founding team at The Bridgespan Group, a global nonprofit organization.

Erik has advised founders and CEOs across numerous early- and late-stage companies, including 6sense, DataFox (acquired by Oracle), Udemy, Identified (acquired by Workday), and Bitly. At Invictus, he currently serves on the boards of Channelscaler and CYPHER Learning.

He holds a bachelor's degree with honors in Economics from Pomona College and an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business.

Outside of work, Erik can be found on the soccer field or spending time with his family and their growing menagerie of pets—including a flock of chickens, a Canine Companions trainee, two cats, and more.
